Why Google Is Fun
I don't have one of those fancy-schmancy widgets that says who is coming to see me and where and when and why...
But one of the Blogspot options is discovering what people googled to get to your site.
As you know, my favorite of all time? "Should my baby wear horizontal stripes".
Apparently lots of people wonder that, bc I've hit on links for that more than 5 times.
Other favorites?
Jack Russells and Jack Hammers
I Don't Want a Minivan
jack russells stomach about to have babies
Bed Rest, Part 2
What to Do when baby gets here
Why does my food taste like dirt
My Jack Russell has a rash
Apparently I post about Daisy often?

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things...
Raindrops on roses? Whiskers on Kittens?
PSHAW!
These are a few of Robbie's favorite things.
Meet Seahorse.
Seahorse? Seahorse is #FTW (For the Win).
H/T to the Becks, as a result Seahorse accompanies the Robster to bed every night. We travel with Seahorse. He plays music. He lights up. He soothes. His battery ran out once. That stunk.
Also FTW?
Meet Bessie:
Meet the Winkle:

Meet Bessie:
Bessie rocks. She squeaks. She crinkles. She has balls that shake and rings to hold. She's soft. She's huggable.Meet the Winkle:
The winkle. It shakes! It rattles! All the rubber rods fit in your mouth.
What else do you need?
A Playmat! The alphabet playmat has been a life saver to these homeowners of a 80 year old home with all wooden floors. I still think that the rubber mat has been essential for his learning to tolerate tummy time, roll, and be ok with hanging out in general! Plus the spit-up just sops right up. We got a steal at Costco. BRU and BBB carry them also. Pregnant mamas? Register for them!
Does anyone have a 5 month old must have that we're missing?

We made it.
We (Robbie and myself) have been very fortunate that Susann had an extended maternity leave. Due to a medical issue with the pregnancy Susann was placed on travel restriction so she basically had not been on a business trip in almost a year - at least not one that involved a flight.
That changed this week. She had to go on marketing trip to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. So yours truly was flying solo on Robbie duty.
I am not going to lie - I was a little concerned. From Monday until Friday night I was in my own. Robbie has started daycare - so they would take care of him during the day but after that he was all mine.
ROUTINE ROUTINE ROUTINE is the answer.
Daycare pick up:
Make sure you have:
Robbie
his formula bottles
signed him out
spoken with his teacher
When we get home:
change Robbie's diaper
feed him solid food in bumpo chair
clean him up
change him into his pjs
play for about an hour
make his bedtime bottle
take him upstairs for bed
feed him
bedtime story time
make bottles for daycare tomorrow
In the morning:
shower
Make Robbie his morning bottle
Wake Robbie up - he wakes with a smile most days which certainly helps
change his diaper
feed him
but him in his boppy pillow to help him sit up (helps him not spit up) while I change into work clothes
change his clothes
take Daisy downstairs
take Robbie downstairs and put him in his car seat
get Robbie's day bag together - bottles, diapers, warm clothes, wipes and a change of clothes
put Daisy in her crate
put Robbie in the car
drop Robbie off at daycare
None of this is all that hard individually but when you add them all together it can become a little overwhelming and it all takes time.
Having said all of that I am pretty proud of myself - Robbie and I survived. We were VERY happy to have Mommy back on Friday. I have a great deal more appreciation for single parents today than I did this time last week.
