Be Impressed

Be impressed.

Be very impressed.

That I am 37+ weeks pregnant and wearing these shoes to work today.

(Do not be worried about cold toes.  I'm still running the temperature of a 37 week pregnant woman.  I.E.  it is HOT)

Work Nesting

You know that you've been blogging too long when you get halfway through writing a blog and realize "I think I've written this one before".

So today?  This.

http://palmettobaby.blogspot.com/2011/08/work-nesting.html

Minus the pre-eclampsia watch and blood pressure and all those other troubs.

It's nice to have a relatively uncomplicated pregnancy.

But even my 50-something male boss said today, "Is there such a thing as work nesting?  Because you are doing it."

I'm going to take it as a compliment on how productive I'm being, and not a harbinger for bed rest starting in six days like it did after the last post.

But to be fair, my maternity leave starts in seven days, and as of today, baby is 37 weeks, so everything from here forward is gravy.

My Mom is rooting for Thanksgiving because it would make her visiting to help a little easier.  My boss is rooting for Thanksgiving because it is his birthday.  I'm rooting against Thanksgiving, because it is the most logistically difficult back-up plan we have in place.  Which means that'll be when she comes.  Because we don't do things the easy way around here.

Sprinkle

A few of my closest girlfriends dedicated this month's ladies brunch to celebrating BE2. I insisted on no shower, but we'll call it a sprinkle...

I am so lucky to have such a wonderful village of independent, confident, intelligent, supportive, beautiful women to help us raise our daughter to be the kind of woman we hope she can be.  With role models like these, she can't lose!

(And man.  So.  Much.  Pink.  And now, thanks to Jules, she has her 1st Phi Mu gear!)

Furniture

Some assembly required my butt.  2 1/2 hours to put together a dresser and still not quite done.  On the postive side we got a heck of a deal on it and it looks pretty good.

Drunk Giraffe

It is utterly and completely amazing how quickly they go from 1-2 steps to the drunk giraffe walk parade across the playground.

I don't know if he saw all the other kids out running, or if the playground squishy surface gave him confidence, but yesterday, Robbie toddled away from me on the playground like he'd been walking for weeks.
