Swinging

Anna Helen's first time swinging!  Robbie taught her the ropes.  She was definitely less floppy and knew to hold on more than he did his first time:

Peace

Our friend Amy got married in simply, my favorite place in the universe.

If we had been married in Greenville area, there's no doubt this is where we'd have the ceremony.

There's something just so peaceful and quiet and right about these hills.

You don't have to believe in God to believe in those moments where everything just seems right.

We were there over Memorial Day weekend and I breathed the air and the spirit and all was right in my world.

The Big Old .5

Lordy.

What a difference to be a second time parent.

And poor Annie. We're totally those second time parents who obsessed over every burp and cute feeding picture and milestone and non-milestone and shouldn't-there-be-a-milestone for this.  And we've blinked and 6 months has gone by.

We maybe got the first food documented.  Or at least re-enacted it so we could post it on our blog and congratulate ourselves for rememberingish to take a picture.

She probably doesn't get a bath as often as she should.

I cannot confirm nor deny that we still haven't made it down to the vital records office to pick up her birth certificate.

But two? It isn't twice the work.  And it is so much easier to be a mom to a newborn without that pesky first time Mom crazy brain in the way.

First, I'd like to say that we were right in the middle of our second IUI procedure this time around when Robbie turned six months, and I would like to officially say we were CRAZY.

I mean clearly, we are unbelievable parents.

The Robster?  7 weeks.  Sleeping through the night.

Every.

Single.

Night.

I know that's an anomaly, but I certainly didn't think we'd be going on six months without any regular sleeping through the night with Anna Helen.

I certainly wouldn't have gone back for more so early.

But I'm so glad we did.

What is she like at 6 months?

Every day our little girl is getting sunnier and more fun.

She is STRONG.

Wicked strong.

She can take the span of the living room floor in 2.2

She, honestly, is probably only a few weeks away from the army crawl.

She hates eating.

Loves her lovie.

Rejects all concepts of pacifiers.

And being held, cuddled, rocked, or touched in general.

She's broken her bottom two teeth and if only she ate, she has the jaws to take down a porkchop without a second glance.

She's a true chunky Michelin baby with wicked blue eyes, and secret smiles only for her brother.

And she may or may not wear the same diaper size he does...

I think we're going to keep her.

(But did I mention we were INSANE to have a second round of fertility treatments with a 5.5 month old??)

Wonderful day

Great day in river city.

Started off with my wonderful wife saying this morning "don't worry about Honey I'll get Anna Helen." Amazing woman my wife.

We then made our way to church where Susann was the team captain for the cover dish lunch.  I was here loyal husband who said the magic words, "what can I do to help?"  Even managed to do a couple of things without having to be told.

Wonderful sermon from the guest minister and then a great cover dish meal in the proud Methodist tradition.
