I, being the proactive Mom I claim to be, took Robbie in to the new school for a couple hours today to meet the teachers and kids that will be in his new room.
He cried for 90 minutes straight everytime I scooted more than a foot away from him.
Mom guilt. It's for reals.
What did I do??
He is at the age for separation anxiety in new situations, no matter where you leave him. What we do is stay and play for a little, get him involved in something and then say bye bye and leave. He's going to cry as long as he can see you, but as soon as you leave, and this is hard to hear, he'll be fine and playing with new friends. Babies = short attention spans.
