Self Service

We've been working at self-feeding around here.

Robbie only has two teeth (still!), but is becoming an expert at grabbing and gumming all kinds of foods.

Blueberries and whole bananas are by far his favorites.

Mom doesn't love the messes, but figure that he needs to eat something other than purees sooner or later!

No Good

Very bad day.

Just an all around stinker here in the E household.

Starting with an ear-piercing scream/cry beginning at 3am.  Ending at 6am.  Approximately.

Shawn got to watch the Kings Speech again.

I got to be grateful that he took this middle of the night stink until I laid there for an hour hearing the baby crying and feeling like a schmoe because I said on Friday that it seemed like he was tugging on his ears.

So what do these winning parents do?

Send the kid to daycare.  He didn't have  a fever.  Leading contenders on causes were an ear infection and teething.

Take the kid to the doc at 9:45....

Healthy as a whistle.

I guess this was just a lesson to not get complacent with our awesome sleeper.

Took him back to daycare on the doctor's advice, and he comes home a happy, cheery dude that just had a little bit longer of a nap that usual.

But mama?  Mama's wiped.

I cannot confirm nor deny that I'm tucked in bed at 7:13pm.

It's gonna be a bad night.

I know you didn't mean it buddy.

Happy Birthday Grandpa

We made the trip to the center of the civilized world - Marion, S.C. - to celebrate my Dad's and Robbie's Grand Dad's birthday.  Dad has had a amazing life and is still going strong.

We got home early Friday afternoon and after a quick hug and kiss on the cheek for Susann and I we almost got run over because we had the poor judgement  to get between my Mom and her grandchild.  We had a great time most of the afternoon "visiting" and catching up on all the latest in Marion.  It was a long trip down but Robbie and Daisy were champs and we made it in good time.

Saturday was Dad's birthday and I believe he had a great one - lots of relatives stopping by to say happy b-day and more "visiting".  The day was capped off with a wonderful family birthday at the local seafood restaurant.  The food and company were great and Dad really appeared to enjoy himself.  Robbie was paraded around and got to eat soft serve ice cream for the first time.

We left fairly early this morning and Robbie and Daisy were great - 1 stop - and we made it home in 6 1/2 hours.

All and in all a great weekend - Thanks Dad for all that you have done and continue to do for our family - Happy Birthday.
