Fundamentals of Sharing

A peek at C and Robbie on my way out of daycare today.

They've been buddies since Mom meetups here in Brookland, and are lucky enough to now be at the same daycare center.

Robbie and C each started with a rattle.

C took Robbie's and Robbie cried.

And Robbie took his revenge.

Sorry there Mr. C.

Alone

Yesterday after getting home from work a little bit early, Shawn decided to pack up the baby and the dog and take a quick walk before dinner.

The door closed behind them and I realized that I can't remember another time in the last almost 8 months that I have been alone in my house.

Eight months is too long for a person who needs alone time to not be alone in their house.

So beginning yesterday and for the foreseeable future, it's now a tradition.  Baby, Dad, Dog, 20 minute walk.

I can't say I did anything glamorous when they were gone.  I started dinner.  Emptied some trash cans.  Washed the bottles from daycare.  Made the bottles and food for the next day.

But I did it.

Alone in our house.

I can't guarantee that tomorrow's 20 minutes won't be spent catching up on Khloe or Bethanny on the DVR, but we'll take it as it comes.

What happens when you say to Daisy, "You want to take a walk with baby?"

This.

Sitting Pretty

... and by pretty, I mean really, really manly.

Robbie's bringing up in the rear in terms of being able to sit up without help and supervision.., but in the last week he's turned the page.

Still hasn't figured out how to get OUT of the sitting position without falling over, hitting his head and crying...

But it'll come...

Bath time, crawling and other things

We have switched Robbie's bath location from the infant tub to the kitchen sink.  He as discovered how to splash and seems to be taking to the new routine.

Robbie has been crawling for awhile.  His favorite things to crawl toward seem to be water cups, power cords and dog bowls.  When he crawls to the dog bowl he will get close to it and, knowing full well he is not supposed to be messing with Daisy's food, he looks back at us waiting to be told no.  Tonight he was crawling toward the bowl and I told him no and then asked him to come to me - believe it or not he did just that with a huge smile on his face which was almost has big as the smile on my face.

Aunt Angela came by this afternoon with her new puppy and we had a wonderful time watch him and Daisy play until they dropped with Robbie right in the middle of it all.

Have to say all in all a great weekend.
