Relatively Speaking...

Aunt Susan and Uncle Mike were in town a couple weeks ago, and despite a mis-fired attempt to go crabpicking at Cantlers, we were able to meet them for lunch out in Leesburg.

Aunt Susan is also my godmother, and we realized that we hadn't seen each other since our wedding almost five years ago.  Time to get her to the East Coast and retired!

Fancy restaurant!  But Robbie did the best he could and we really enjoyed meeting some of Uncle Mike's "other" family!

(Also, I promise I own more than one dress, it just happens to be the most comfy and 90 degree day friendly thing in my wardrobe)

11 months

I am woefully behind on a "Robbie is 11 months!" post, and I think that it is going to stay that way.

We have the photo, just not the laptop to upload it to right now.

So yesterday's videos will have to suffice with a few data points.  I'll add the photos when I get back to computer-having... whenever that may be.

  • Robbie's on the move.  Not quite walking, and I don't necessarily think close to walking.  He doesn't seem that interested unless there's something to push or hold on to.  He's no where near standing up alone without assistance. I think it'll be another month or so.  It's like his little feet have absolutely no idea what to do.

  • He's starting to learn how to play independently.  Play independently often involves climbing the stairs, pulling on laptop cords, or trying to eat Daisy's ears... so we take what we can get.

  • He LOVES to throw a ball.  LOVES it.  So much that although we say that his first word was "mamamamaaaaaa" (or daaaa) (or deedee aka Daisy) (depending on who you ask)... i think it's pretty obvious his first word is ball.  We'll take it.  Look out Washington Nationals!  Or Shotputting!  Or football (kicker)

  • He's revolting against all thing vegetable.  But can otherwise eat like a 16 year old boy.

  • He's starting to understand directions and even listen to them sometimes.  "Sit down", "Bring mama xxx", just some basics.  But he's turning into a real person.  And a fun little dude.

Olympic Training

We're working on our marketable skills over here in the Edwards household...

First event?  The shotput...

Followed by?  The dinosaur walk....

Fame and fortune is in our sights.  Clearly.

Cup is pretty full

We have been having a little bit of a tough time recently.  Susann's previous post covers the latest happenings.  I won't try to put any lipstick on that pig - it stinks.

BUT we were reminded on Saturday morning that even with all of our recent "challenges"we have so much to be thankful for.  We were eating breakfast and noticed a Mother and her wheel chair bound child.  That reminded me that whatever our problems there are good people out there who have it tougher.

We have each other, we have our health, we have an amazing little boy and a beautiful little girl on the way, we have loving and supportive families and we have good jobs.

LOTS to be thankful for.

Oh one more thing - Susann's hard drive crapped out on her two day old computer (replacement for the stolen one) - sorry but hard for us to be thankful for that one.
