Spaghetti: The Truth

I cannot confirm nor deny that I served sausage and peppers over spaghetti last night for the sole purpose of taking the obligatory "baby eats spaghetti" photos.

Pregnancy Update: 23 Weeks

I'm not religiously following the calendar like I did on the last pregnancy.  In fact, I have to google pregnancy calendar everytime I try to remember how many weeks along I am.

Hold on, let me make sure 23 weeks is correct....

Ok.  I'm right.

Tomorrow makes 23 weeks.  Only one week away from the point that they will undertake medical means to keep a baby alive if born.

I can't imagine Newtess coming tomorrow or frankly, any time soon.

We haven't done a thing.

Seriously.  Nothing.  We haven't done a THING to prep for this baby.

Double stroller?  Nope.

Crib?  Nope.

Where is Newtess going to sleep?  Still deciding.

We did undertake a big leap of faith in the institution of ultrasoundry and I traded every single one of our boy outfits for a neighbor's girl clothes.  A neighbor we don't know at all.  This will be interesting if Newtess turns out to be a Newt.

Pregnancy update.  Using the questions from last time around.  Fitz is the one nagging me to update on baby 2, so I'm sure if she has more questions, she'll populate up the comment section.  I promise to answer them.

How Far Along Are You?   22 weeks, 6 days pregnant. My "switchover" day is on Wednesdays yet again this time around.  Our goal is to make it to a scheduled c-section at 39 weeks, 5 days, which would make Newtess' birthday on December 3rd.  We'll see if I can make it that far.

How Big is the Baby? Baby's about 11.5 inches long and a pound or so.  The internet has all kinds of strange baby-size comparisons, but it says that this week, the baby is the length and weight of a Harry Potter book.  Fruit comparison says grapefruit, but that seems quite different than a Harry Potter book...

Maternity Clothes? Believe it or not, I still haven't made a single maternity purchase, and am trying valiantly to get through this pregnancy without any. I definitely don't want to buy a suit for work, and right now, I'm living in a few summer dresses that are seeming to do the trick. I'm getting tired of the clothes I have, but not tired enough to spend money on clothes that I'll only wear for a couple months.  I think Em will put some fall gear in the mail to me.  I would guess that I'm already close to the size belly that I was at 40 weeks last time around.  That leaves lots of room for growing over the next 17 weeks.  Ugh.

How are you Sleeping? SO MUCH BETTER than last time around.  I'm sure that'll change.

Strangest Moment of the Week?  Newtess is CRAY CRAY.  At this point last time I was feeling little bubbles and butterflies.  Baby girl is round house kicking and partying.  Big time.  She particularly likes 9-10:30 pm.  Or maybe she's just an Olympics fan?

Food: Good or Bad?  Rapidly devolving into food bad.  Last time around I was munching on healthy.  This time I want Subway sandwiches and onion bagels.  Six meals a day.  And giant diet cokes.  From McDonalds.  With the big awesome straw.  Maybe that explains the belly size.

Do I miss having a cocktail? Actually, not at all. I'm sure I'll enjoy a margarita or few after the baby is here, but I haven't had the craving or interest to drink. Strangely enough, the smell of cigarettes is intoxicating. I am loving the smell. (Clearly I wouldn't smoke one).  I want to follow smokers down the street and get a whiff.

What's Next?  Gestational diabetes test and next appt on my birthday in a couple weeks.  Yeehaw.  Need to find a crib.  And decide where to put it.

What are you Nervous About? Christmas at home alone.  Lame, I know.  But I'm going to be mondo sad about missing both family Thanksgiving and Christmases this year.

Rolling with the big kids

A few weeks ago we were able to attend another Beckbirthdaystravaganza.

I'm not sure if we've mentioned it before, but that is a family that does family time right.

When we were pregnant and even today we continue to be impressed at the creativity their family has in planning weekends, outings and birthday parties.

This year?  Complete with a visit from the local FD.  But not without playing with the big kids in the water and sand table.

Robbie's vaulting through babyhood and head on into toddlerdom.
