Party Hardy

We are so grateful for our DC village.

Today was awesome.

Thanks to Sharynesque for the montage.  More photos to come.

Eight is (Mostly) Great

We're chugging along here in parenting of two.

It's unfathomable to me that I was pregnant with Anna Helen at this point in Robbie's life.  What were we thinking?

I guess we were thinking she'd sleep through the night like he does.

That she'd chow down on anything we gave her.

That she'd be all smiles and easy going.

Two out of three ain't bad!

AH is learning how to do the "real" crawl after a couple of months of army crawling.  I guess we'll have to start sweeping the floor now instead of fastening a Swiffer to her stomach.

She's a finicky eater.  Likes to eat.  Wants to eat MY food, not her food.  Except for fruit.  She hates fruit.

Her teachers called her "the mayor" the other day.  She LOVES other babies and older kids in particular.  She's very interested in touching them.  And everything.

AH has NO boundaries, is STRONG and isn't scared of anything.  She's thinking about pulling up already and in her activeness is starting to lose those squishy Michelin-baby legs.  I wouldn't be shocked if she's walking in two months.  Oif.

Onward and upward.

I'm Not That Mom...

I'm not that Mom who showers every Saturday....

Who plans every moment...

Who feeds a vegetable at every meal.

I'm not that Mom who choses cute dress over yoga pants for a day at the Children's Museum...

Who bothers with anything other than a ponytail most days....

Who does laundry once a week.

I'm not the Mom who meal plans when kids are sleeping.

Who remembers always to pack the snack...

Who doesn't need a nap.

I'm not that Mom.

I'm not that Mom whose kid doesn't rub banana into the sofa and you think, "did I Scotchguard it?"

Who doesn't think, oif, baby sister, do you really need that overpriced giraffe that I can't find right now in order to fall asleep?

Who doesn't put the pillow over her ears in the most modified version of cry it out ever?

The one who has it all together?

Has the successful plan and always carries it out?

Doesn't have to drag an "I have no limbs" toddler both into and out of school daily?

I'm not that Mom.

But I'm A Mom.

So here we are.

The Radio Flyer rides at last

Great weekend with AMAZING weather.  We got out as much as possible and took the opportunity to dust off the Radio Flyer that Bookie and Poobah were kind enough to give the kids.

AH rides Pageant Queen style, flashing smiles, thinking that it is the best thing ever.

Robster is wondering why AH is in his space.

So are the days of our lives.
