So...

So... Christmas happened.

It was great.  There are many stories to tell.

There were new cousins and lots of aunts and uncles. And trees!  And lights!  And presents!

I think this will be the only Christmas where the Robster just hangs out and has no idea whats going on.

He knew wrapping paper was awesome.

And shiny lights.

Santa didn't bring him anything.

Relatives did.

Big time.

Routine

We're realizing how much we need to get into a routine for the mornings. Showering, changing ourselves, changing baby, feeding baby, remembering everything for daycare, packing everything for daycare, dropping off at daycare in a suit without getting spit up on, labeling everything and checking in everything properly at daycare, picking up, remembering everything, cleaning washing reloading bottles, cooking dinner, bathtime, bedtime. YOWZA!

Pity-Pat

Today was great.

It felt amazing to be back at work.  And to know that the Robster is at a daycare where I feel really really comfortable.

We still have some morning logistics and routines to work out, but I think we're all going to be happy with our new lives.

I thrive on work.  I really really love it.  I like my job, I like my colleagues, I like my clients.  It doesn't get much better.

So when folks came in today to give me the "How are you" pity-pat, I only started feeling guilty when I realized I wasn't sad or weepy or feeling guilty at all.

My goal?  To be one of those Moms who has a good life balance which makes for a happy family all around.

And Robbie?  He did awesome.  His daycare does daily reports for the parents... today?

"Robbie had a great transition. He is such a HAPPY BABY!!! He was very alert to all the movement around him. He enjoyed the musical toys. Very independent baby."

Good job buddy.

Good job mommy.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow, I return to work for the first time in five months.  Between bed rest and a very generous maternity leave, I think I'm ready.  I'm too busy "work nesting" to process it all right now.  I'm sure that will trickle out over the next few days.

Until then?  Robbie is getting spic and span for his first day at school.

Look how much he's grown since his first bath!  Look how Mom hasn't changed her Mom uniform since his first bath!

Resolutions! (For Shawn)

A New Year is here so that means it is time for the annual effort of self improvement.

Mine for the year?  Lose weight, take my lunch to work 3 times a week and do a better job of regularly attending church.

2011 was a good year.  Let's hope 2012 is as good if not better.
